As Kit tookthe help of Yaen to pull his hands from the bright light creating by Kaos's blood and the rot intermingling, they also pulled a small gnome inventor from the light who said his named was Tatta.
Tatta claimed he had been trapped and a hellish landscape of a cozy little cottage with a beautiful picket fence and endless flower gardens, where he couldn't tinker, invent, or machine for what felt like an eternity. He had no memory of how he'd gotten there or anything from before his arrival there.
The group introced him to Dwea and Tatta was immediately enamored with her and the workshop at Torn's Rest. He marveled at the various tools and machines lying about and built a small automaton in minutes, showing a brilliance that put even the expert Dwea to shame.
The group asked Tatta is he could help them shrink down the Primary Lens to the Sword of Tyr, a name which Tatta seemed to remember from some distant past, but couldn't put his finger on it.
Sure enough, he built a device that could shrink and un-shrink any non-living object, and he did it using only the materials in the workshop, but without using the rot.
In fact, whenever he went to touch the rot, it moved away from him. He explained the rot was actually millions of little machines, all working together to a common purpose.
Tatta explored the shop and found that they were primarily making weapons, which he could not abide. He told the group he was going to destroy Dwea's workshop.
The group grabbed the gnome and fled the building before he could destroy it, but Dwea had already put together a posse to stop him.
Ser Balen was able to talk them down using his commanding persona, and as the group escaped, Kaos grabbed a device from a random table which was a series of concentric rings with abyssal runes on it.
Away from Torn's Rest, the Gaping Maw of Sound, with Syd and Havyn in tow, traveled towards Wilder, where Tatta said they'd have to find this Crown of the Kindred so he could understand why it kept the rot at bay.
