Before riding off back to Love Letter, General Spark let the new Hivebreakers know that she'd created her own dream tether to keep the various companies within her army informed and coordinated.
The trio of Evadne, Violet, and Alister climbed their way back into walls with the help of one of the construction workers Alister had won to his perspective on General Spark previously.
Within the city streets, they were watched by all, some with admiration, other disdain. Soon the governer of Walls approached and had a confrontation with Violet, who did not take well to her tone in questioning their decision to speak with Spark.
The governer, however, was sympathetic to their desire to help fight back to the Ziggurati. To that end, she gave them express access to the underground mines of Walls, where Alister's father had once delved for secrets of the civilization that lived there before.
The group descended after some quick gambling with some local ne'er-do-wells, and found a cavernous underground rail system, along with magical beacons that could be lit for seconds at a time, and only with great effort and atherical cost.
However, the governer had given access to another individual, and the group soon saw the light from her torch in a lower level.
They boarded a mine cart and were only able to survive the journey down to the newcomer by relying on her to stop the cart before it crashed into a block-brake on the tracks.
Having saved them from a long fall, the newcomer introduced herself as Ecara, a minotaur archeologist looking for historical truths beneath the city.
However, in her rush to help stop the cart, she'd accidentally created a fissure in the room she'd been working in, and when that fissure formed, the entire cavern lit up with hundreds of beacons for the first time ever, and the group saw that a massive underground city was spread out below them.
Trying to understand what had caused the beacons to flair for just a moment, giving them that view of the city, they entered back into where Ecara had been working to find it crumbled in and a slope of debris leading down.
Descending, they found a room labeled "Armory" in an archaic form of Common. Alister and Ecara used their tools to crack the rust off the doors, singing an old dwarven mining song Alister's father had taught him, and were able to gain access.
Within the Armory, the group found a golem lying in wait, with many other small constructs around it, and it flared with aetherical power, which seemed to be at least in part what caused the aetherical surge they'd seen earlier.
The Hivebreakers destroyed the golem, and found one of the smaller constructs intact, awaiting input and instruction from whomever registered as its user.
The group spend some time talking to the construct, whom they named Pebble, and learned that the city beneath them was built during the first Constellation War as a way to escape the destruction in the world above.
Pebble said the city, called Kingdom, was built by the Panta people, a name no one knew.
Pebble offered to help transport and guide the Hivebreakers through Kingdom, and they agreed.
