Within the city of Walls on the plains of Overgrowth in the country of Raesh, the fairy druid Evadne awoke to find some neighborhood boys playing at war games, with one dressed in gold, playing as General Spark, the evil villain who was to be defeated by the other dressed as Walls legends Ornor, who had been to the Spire and back.
Evadne chased the boys, scaring them with her mischevious magics, but soon found her good friend and clank assassin Violet drawn to the commotion.
The two of them wandered the interior of Walls in search for the third of their friendly trio, a halfling seraph named Alister Stonesinger, who was working on a construction project to more easily transport weaponry to the top of city's eponymous walls, the more easily fight back against the constant Zigguratti threat.
Alister, whose adopted father Brand had thought well of General Spark, argued with some of the construction workers that the General's presence in Raesh was for the best, and she would help them reclaim the land from Ziggurat. The general populace thought her a usurper and unwanted.
As all three found one another, they paid a visit to an old, enfeebled woman named Sependa, who was once an adventurer alongside Alister's adopted father and Violet's creator.
The visit to sit by her bedside and keep her company was interrupted with the horn calls of riders approaching the city.
The trio made their way to the top of the walls to see General Spark approaching with a fellow rider, a clank covered in mushrooms.
No one from the city considered entreating with the pair, so Alister, Violet, and Evadne took it upon themselves to be the city's representatives, repelling down the wall since no one would open the gate.
At the bottom of the wall, however, the stumbled upon a sneaking Ziggurat company that was attempting to stealth their way into Walls.
The trio fought the Ziggurati back, and General Spark arrived just in time to clean up the remaining enemies, though she looked pained while doing so.
General Spark told the trio that she came to Walls with her second-in-command, Sadcap, in an effort to recruit some capable fighters to help her learn more about the country in which the war against Ziggurat was being fought.
Spark explained she new precious little about the ancient ruins and locations the Raesh people had taken up residence in, and needed to learn about the ancient land since the Ziggurati already knew so much more than they.
The trio agreed to wander Raesh and reports back to Spark through a magical one-page journal. They decided to call their contingent within General Spark's company the Hivebreakers.
