Star and Scale spoke with Sabrina, who seemed unable to recognize or even perceive the other exact copies of her within the other pods within the chamber, though she seemed completely up to date on recent events and even the current date.
Knowing the red crystals scattered around the tower had a hand in waking her, the group gave her one to hold and she explained it felt wrong somehow, as though holding it was abrasive in an unnatural way. The crystal reacted to her touch, as did every other crystal in the tower.
Sabrina explained she wished to return to Queen's Meet and the group escorted her back down the tower, sending her on her way, unsure what impact allowing her to leave would have.
Meanwhile, May and Ezekiel inpected the pods containing the other Sabrinas and learned they were magical stasis devices that also kept their occupants constantly updated on the going-ons of the surrounding area, primarily Queen's Meet and southern Core Vandal.
May estimated they had been there for over 400 years, and that she could also adjust the device to allow that updating magic to inform an occupant of the happening of all of Vault by extending its range.
The only other door in the tower was a large gold inlaid door with depictions of creatures which Elowyn quickly identified as personifications of the constellations. They all pointed towards a rubbed of portion of the middle of the door.
Within the room they found a massive study with a field of stars magically depicted across the ceiling, moving like an orrery backwards in time.
A giant griffon with fire within its eyes, talons, and crest had made its nest in the study and was also capable of speech. His name was Pericles and he identified the group as non-kobolds, which was good for them, as Pericles quickly explained he had killed all the kobolds in the tower.
Pericles had recently lost his mate and daughter on the road outside Roost, and he'd never even found his daughter's body. Blaming the kobolds, Pericles had ordered the griffons of Roost to kill them to the last.
Pericles also explained the "Cabal of Elysians" who once used this tower had created him and all the Sabrinas in the room outside, though he did not know to what end as he was not capable of speech in those days.
He did unveil that one of the Sabrinas had seen something that had caused her to become unstable, resulting in the devastation throughout Roost.
Garrick and Seed listened to Pericles's tale of woe, resulting in the griffon trusting the group and leaving his nest unguarded. Elowyn surmised his missing griffon daughter was none other than Ellie, who lived and traveled with the Gaping Maw of Sound. The group promised to return Ellie, who he called "Fwayne" to him, which brought him some measure of peace.
During that time, the rest of the group found the controls for the star map playing out above them and matched them to the depiction of the constellations on the door. The only time in which all constellations matched the layout on the door was in the years 2400, five years from the current date. Additionally, the star map depicted three moons all coming into alignment in a kind of multi-lunar eclipse, which would only be visible from the Final Sea.
With Pericles off his nest, the group found a scroll beneath it which contained information on what the Elysian Cabal had been doing with all those Sabrinas from the next room.
Apparently they were attempting to harness the faith that powered the gods by getting people to believe in a mortal in the same way. Sabrina Sharpe already had a semi-religious following in Queen's Meet, and her second coming, through the arrival of a doppleganger, would fuel the flames of faith.
The end goal of this was seemingly to fight the nation of Ziggurat, which the Cabal seemed to detest in the worst way.
Knowing what they now knew, Star and Scale made to leave the tower but encountered a surviving group of kobolds on the bottom floor, magically hidden in a burrow beneath Roost, who were now planning on scaling the tower and killing Pericles.
