The Students of Life and Death concluded their business in Trine, including looting Igon's workshop and repaying Marsha as much money as they could, and used the teleportation circle to buy quick passage to Jemenda.
Arriving in the country of Jawhara, the students found themselves immersed in an unfamiliar culture, in a vibrant and exciting city.
They did some shopping as way of gathering information on where they could find a priest or cleric of Thrax; all in an effort to find where Thrax's mother might be buried.
They met a sunglasses merchant named Jacque, but when they mentioned Thrax, a nearby orc took notice and left quickly, as if having somewhere to be.
Jacque took great interest in Sprocket, asking about whether he had free will through the use of Animancy, and also attempted to buy the mechanized badger.
The group finished shopping for glasses and clothes, Roach getting in on the action as well, and learned of the Catacombs, a place beneath the city where the dead can rest peacefully away from the Furies of the desert.
As the group descended into the catacombs, they found dedicated acolytes wrapped head to toe in white cloth bandages, with cold, yellow eyes that lit up the dark.
However, entering the catacombs disrupted some manner of magic that soon made it clear that Sprocket and Val had been illustory for some time, and as the two illusions disipated, the group was left wondering what had become of their friend.
