Haygar's Heroes began exploring the ruined city of Standing Stones, and soon found deep gouges in the stone lining certain oft used passages, and decided to follow those from the scene of death they'd encountered at the pool.
While descending down through the city, the group encountered a room with rafter built from necrotic wood, a wood with which Dink was intimately familiar being from Tree Pass, though this wood seemed to predate the founding of Galdarion Forest and the advent of necrotic wood.
During a passing of a large chasm in the ruins, Pearl received a call along her Mycelian network from her cousin Carla, who had been worried about Pearl since being around Sadcap in Love Letter had stymied her ability to communicate with other Fungril.
During that discussion, Pearl saw deep into the chasm and found a large creature was in the process of being eaten by something at the bottom.
Deciding she wanted to know more about this creature, and whatever was eating it, Pearl encouraged the group to keep descending down to the bottom.
Along the way, Haygar's Heroes encountered a room of carniverous plants called Vanemare, with Golmer and Hemingway were able to identify and burn, allowing safe passage for the others.
Golmer also took some time to learn more about Hemingway's construction, specifically his thermogenic core and inner workings.
Soon the group came upon a floating mechanical orb creature, which fled as soon as it saw them.
The group was able to keep up with the creature and follow it into a lab that was very much not abandoned.
Within this lab was a small metal doll named Sir Tin who had Nina strapped to a vertical table, and a small metal doll strapped to a table next to her.
Upon seeing Sir Tin, Ursula's magic somehow mingled with the Dream Tether General Spark had established for the group, and they were all able to see a memory of Sir Tin's, where he was speaking to a woman who looked almost identical to Nina named Iziabella. In this memory, they were arguing about Sir "Antin" needing to fulfill his obligation to fight a group of "things," one of which was apparently an entity known as Doomblade.
Antin promised to come back to Iziabella, who was a powerful sorceress, as soon as it was safe enough to do so.
Back in the present, the group saw the floating mechanical orb joined several of its fellows, and on Sir Tin's command, attacked them.
